MEND: Holocaust Memorial Day statement

In line with this year’s theme for Holocaust Memorial Day, MEND stands together with our Jewish brothers and sisters and all of those who suffer persecution, oppression, or abuse on the basis of their religious identities. It is essential that we stand together against the divisive discourse that has characterised our politics in recent years and that parties and politicians commit themselves to tackling prejudice within their parties. It is also the responsibility of every person to engage with our democracy in order to ensure that prejudice will not be tolerated at any level. In the words of Anne Frank: “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
