IRU Stall at the Ramadan Tent Project

IRU Stall at the Ramadan Tent Project

Categories: Past Event Articles

Tuesday May 29 2018

The IRU, Islamophobia Response Unit, plays a crucial role in the work MEND does in fighting against Islamophobic hate crime and other forms of discrimination. On the 28th of May 2018, the Central London Working Group held the IRU stall at the Ramadan Tent Project.

Despite the sudden and heavy rain, the Open Iftar gathering attracted a full house with the tent being packed out with people ready to open their fast during this holy month. During the Open Iftar event, the IRU stall generated a lot of enthusiasm and interaction from attendees, particularly during the end of the event. This particular IRU stall event was the third MEND event organised and delivered by the Central London Working Group in this blessed month at the Ramadan Tent Project. Such a collaboration demonstrates the strength of the Muslim community in creating awareness, working to bring about a positive change and building a diverse and unified community.
