DESCRIPTION:MEND is partnering Byline Festival to invite you to be part of a festival that stands up for better representation of all communities in the media and society. Set in a 1000 acres of forest just over an hour from London it provides a unique opportunity to hear from politicians\, journalists\, and leading experts as well as enjoy\, comedy\, theatre\, music and circus. It has activities and fun for all the family. \nSpeakers include Baroness Warsi\, John Cleese\, Idris Ahmed\, Naz Shah\, Hugh Grant\, Rushanara Ali\, Nesrine Malick\, June Sarpong\, Alexei Sayle\, Hardeep Singh Kohli\, Lord Adebowale and Gary Lineker. \nThere will be panels on ‘Monstering Muslims in the Media’\,  workshops on ‘Know Your Rights’ \, quizzes\, comedy and much more \nFamily activities include the Media Planet adventure and newsroom\, where kids get a chance to create their own news stories and a daily show for their parents. Outdoor activities include rock climbing with qualified instructors\, organised games in the forest and workshops where everyone can learn stand-up comedy\, poetry\, writing\, and drama. \nThe BBC Virtual Reality tent will take you on a trip down the Nile\, on a spacewalk and in a refugee boat. The Frontline Documentary tent will feature a range of documentaries from all around the world. The Bad Press awards will highlight the misrepresentation of the press. \nThere will be a wide range of food stalls with Halal food.
